Wednesday's adventures took us to one of my favorite places in Provo canyon, Bridal Veil Falls.

Nick and I took our engagement photos there, and I remember driving up to hike and play in the waterfall during my childhood Utah summer vacations. I wanted to give my babies the same experience of driving through the canyon, hiking around in the mountains and playing in the cold glacier run-off. They were thrilled, though you'd never know with those scowls.
We thought it would be fun to bring a friend along, so I called up my best friend from college, Alli. She and her sweet little girl, Kathryn, joined us on our adventure. Kathryn was a trooper and walked all the way to the waterfall all by herself!

Once we actually made it to the waterfall Lyssa found the raging river to be much more exciting. With a wet, rainy spring the mountains and the canyons have stayed nice and green all the way into July, but the rivers are very fast and very full.
Kathryn wasn't so keen on the freezing cold water. She gave it a try a few times, but decided it just wasn't for her... not to mention she was getting a little sleepy.
It took Lyssa a little getting used to, but eventually she forging her way across the cold wet rocks too! She didn't want Alec to leave her behind.

Beautiful waterfall, happy Grandma, sleepy babies.

On the way back we let Kathryn take a ride in the jogging stroller so Alec could walk with me... until he decided that was no fun. Then I carried him on my shoulders until he decided that was no fun either. Grandma graciously offered to carry him for 50 steps to give his little legs a rest. What an amazingly strong Grandma, eh?
I love this picture. I love how happy everyone looks, even though Alec is probably picking his nose.

Thanks for taking us on another fun adventure, Grandma!
And thanks for coming along, Alli and Kathryn!
It sure was beautiful.

How fun! Is the pack working out alright? I can't wait to take Jakob up there in August.
Can I just tell you how much I LOVE the picture of your family at the top of this blog? Not only do you look amazing (darling dress) but your husband and kids look fabulous as well. That's hard to do. Usually one has to give! You look genuinely happy.
I LOVED spending time with you this weekend. I'm missing everyone already.
