~Another Week of Single Parenting~

I felt a bunch of anxiety this time when Nick left, though I'm not exactly sure why.  I was grumpy all the way around and super impatient with my kiddos from the get go.  A few days after Nick left I was running off some stress at the gym and felt a great peace come over me as I realized, I've done this before.  I can do it again.  Just relax, have fun with the kids and forget the rest.  That is EXACTLY what we did.  We ate pizza or cereal or snacks for dinner almost every night.  We read tons of books, played lots of games, watched fun new movies, didn't clean or do any laundry and even had a slumber party in my room, sans Cordy.  The kids and I got jammies on, snuggled up in my Queen bed with popcorn and treats and watched "The Princess Bride" together before nodding off.  They thought it was awesome, and (other than the little knees in my back all night) so did I!  These little people of mine can be so much fun.  They have such awesome imaginations and give the best snuggles.
Once I adjusted my attitude it seemed like the rest of Nick's trip went by really fast.  I was geared up for at least one more day, but alas there he was walking out of the airport.  We were soooo excited to see him, especially little miss Cordy.  She wouldn't let him out of her sight for at least 2 days after he got home.  I find myself so glad he has a good job he likes were he gets to have awesome experiences, but I'm also so grateful every time he comes home.  :-)
