Nick's parents drove out to Iowa in their awesome yellow Mustang for a visit. We were so excited to have them, even if it was just for the weekend. The kids ate up all the extra attention and we had lots of fun together.
The big kids warm up pretty quickly, although Alec is pretty cautious about giving anyone a hug other than his mom and dad. By the end of our weekend he didn't fight the hugs so much. Cordy took her time warming up to them, but by the end she was ready to climb in laps, demand stories, and give hugs too. It is so wonderful to watch your kids love and feel loved by your family.
This last picture was taken minutes before we loaded in the car for lunch before Grandma and Grandpa started their long drive back to Idaho. Alec and Elyssa were thrilled to skip school for the morning to just play with them and then have lunch at the grossest restaurant around (McDonalds). It was hard to say goodbye, but I thought this picture was just about priceless. Thank you for visiting us, Grandma Lael and Grandpa Stuart! We love you!
