Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas! We have had a wonderful Christmas season this year visiting family and friends out in Utah and Idaho.  We were blessed to have Nick able to get 2 weeks off of work so we took the flight out to Utah on the 17th.

We spent the first week with Chrissy's family in Orem.  Chrissy's Grandma recently had a stroke so things were pretty chaotic with people running here and there and lots of coming and going.  Thankfully Grandma seems to be recovering well and has high spirits (no doubt thanks to all the love and support she has received from her wonderful children) and should be able to move back into her own home.  Nick and Chrissy spent much of their time in Orem running errands, helping people do last minute Christmas shopping, and spending time with the family.  Overall a wonderful visit!

On the 26th we went up to Idaho to visit with Nick's family and celebrate a late Christmas with them.  We had many opportunities to laugh, play games, and eat good food.  We were all here to attend the Jepsen Family Christmas party and it was wonderful to catch up with family that we haven't seen for a while.  We will also be spending the New Year's holiday here with the family before he head back to Iowa.

We also celebrated Alec's 1st birthday!  Woohoo!  It seemed to be a good day for him for the most part, but by the time we got around to presents and cake he was pretty tired, so we whisked him off to his bath and put him to bed.  We feel blessed to have Alec in our family and know he is a very sweet, very intelligent little boy.  He's handled all the new faces and all the change really really well, and has even slept well through the night for the most part.  He's getting more and more daring every day and in the last two and a half weeks has perfected the crawl, though he still prefers to walk along furniture if he can.  He's learning and growing so fast!  He just has to do things on his own time table is all.  No one was going to make that little boy crawl before he wanted to.  :-)

Well, we are excited for this New Year and all the joys and new adventures it's sure to bring!  Just 5 more weeks before our baby girl should be joining our family.  Chrissy's getting pretty uncomfortably pregnant at this point, and has appreciated all the help holding, caring, and entertaining Alec while we've been on vacation so she can rest when she needs it.  We feel blessed to have so much love and support in our lives and look forward to another wonderful year!  Happy New Year to all!
