My Chunky Monkey is 6 Months Old!

Little Lyssa turns 6 months today! (Chunky Monkey... sweet and chunky just like Ben and Jerrys) My sweet little princess keeps growing and growing. I took her to the doctor for her 6 month well baby check up yesterday and the doctor says she looks good! She's a really good baby, and she's growing and sleeping and just pretty content with life most of the time. Her stats all went up, weighing in at 16 1bs 10 oz. and 26.25 inches! Way to grow baby girl!

At this point Elyssa is sleeping well through the night, but gets up at 6:30 am no matter when you put her down. :-) She takes two good solid naps, and the occasional third if needed (as long as we stay home anyway). She's rolling all over the place and wants to do everything her brother does. She's not too chatty, and I recognize that part of that is because I don't talk directly to her as much as I should, but I don't read to Alec enough anymore either. I tell ya, this parenting thing is totally a balancing act! Hopefully it all evens out in the end.

Anyway, Lyssa is an absolute doll, with nice chubby arms, and legs, with petite little sholders. I tried on a bunch of 6-9 months clothes on her the other day because she needs the length, but her sholders slide right through the top and they make her look like a linebacker. :-) The doctor predicts with as much rolling and scooting she's doing now that it won't be very long before she is crawling. Yikes! Lyssa still isn't into eating solids yet, but we're going to start up with the green beans and peaches and see if a little flavor changes her mind about food. Honestly, I wouldn't eat that bland rice cereal either if I was her! Can you say blaa?
