Packages Packages Packages

This week has been pretty devoid of plans so we've had to rely on the little things to keep us entertained. One of those little things is all the "good mail" we've been getting! You know what I mean... good mail, like stuff you're excited to open... stuff that isn't bills or ads or credit card scams. We've gotten lots of good mail this week. The highlight by far was the package that came from my mom yesterday. I was so tempted to open it up the second it came, but decided to wait until the babies were awake from their naps so they could enjoy the box with me. Boy oh boy did they have fun!

Alec trying out the potty with his new hat, "Jammies," and books.
Lyssa loved playing with the tags on the clothes! The new kitty and puppy that Alec insisted on sleeping with last night!
Lyssa in her new poka dot sleep and play outfit! So soft, so cute!

The kitty and puppy were extra helpful last night because Tigger had to take a night off from being Alec's sleeping buddy so he could get a nice bath. Lyssa's sheep (Lamby) took the night off before, and I wish I had taken before and after photos. Those of you who have seen Lamby have probably noticed how much "lovin" she receives, and how white she wasn't looking these days. After her bath she was glowing! I brought her upstairs last night and put her across the living room from Lyssa. I've never seen Lyssa army crawl so fast in my life! As soon as she got her hands on that sheep she wouldn't let it go! She really loves her little lamb.

Realizing just how attached my kids are to their animals makes me wish I had duplicates to switch in and out for washings, etc. However, we found out that Lyssa's sweet little Lamby came from Mt. Vernon three years ago (a baby gift for Alec that quickly became Lyssa's after she was born)... so it's pretty unlikely that we'll ever find one like it again. Luckily Target still caries Classic Winnie the Pooh, but they've already changed the style for Tigger so he doesn't look quite the same...

Yay for new videos! Yay for cute new clothes! Yay for "comfort objects." That's what they call them in this book called the Giver that won the Newberry Award. Only in the Giver the community takes away the comfort objects when the kids are a few years old. To which I reply, "You can have my yellow ragged blankie when you pry it from my cold dead fingers."
