Dear Readers,
I need your help. I need a paint color for my kitchen...
This is the new floor. Ceramic tile, finished installing tonight. Wooho0!
Here is a sample door of our new cabinets.
And here is a sample kitchen made with our cabinets... though we don't want our kitchen to look much like this at all...
This is the kitchen hardware. It's actually the same stuff that was on the old cabinets, but it's pretty new and I still really like it.

This is the countertop... that fingers crossed will be installed mid next week.

This is the granite composite sink... that hopefully will go in mid next week once the countertops are in!

This is the faucet I'm thinking about installing.

And this is the new refrigerator. All the appliances (dishwasher, oven, microwave) will be this color.

And these are the main paint and trim colors of our main living areas bordering the kitchen... and an old picture I found of Alec running around with nothing on but a diaper and a super hero cape.
So what color do I paint the kitchen? I'm worried about having too much brown, and have thought about a light blue but I'm not sure. I plan to paint Friday night and would love any input... Thoughts?

i say for sure nothing too neutral. maybe a yellow or orange/rust/red. on behr.com you can browse paint samples. just remember if you don't like it you can always just paint over it!
What about a green of some sort? Depending on how much wall space you have, you can go bright for a pop of color (kelly green), or go softer with a greyish-green to stay a little more neutral (like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8230585@N06/3408401990/)
We have the SAME countertop AND the same granite composite sink in our new house!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!
As for paint color......I'm not sure! We're sticking with the fresh paint that comes with a new house...which is brown, light brown. I decided to spice up the color with my decor for now! Good luck painting!!!
My mom just redid her kithchen with white cabnets and she painted it a yellow color. Not a bright yellow and not a mustard yellow but something inbetween. She has a lot of black accents too. Hers looks awesome. The rest of her house in a beige color. Not as dark as yours but same idea. Those are my thoughts. Have fun.
Wow! Your kitchen is going to look fab! Great style! Blue would be cool. Another suggestion: the dark part of the pear green. Amanda Ripp did a wall in her apartment that color and it looks awesome. I'm sure she'd be happy if you wanted to look at it and find out the color she used. Good luck! Can't wait to see it when it's done.
I like the idea of green or red too. I heard somewhere that blue kept people from wanting to eat since there aren't a lot of naturally blue foods. But I am sure your kitchen will look fab no matter what you choose.
I think green or yellow would look awesome! See you at dinner tonight--5:30ish?
Have you made a decision yet??!
And the winner is pale Daffodil by Behr paints. I love it!
