~Pumpkin Carving 2009~

October seemed to go too fast. We didn't get to do all the things we had planned. Nick had class, we had exciting visitors, and then we all got sick. Three days before Halloween we still hadn't carved our pumpkins! It was time to get to work!
Alec wasn't too keen on gutting the pumpkins until he got his hand in there and realized how cool it felt! Slimy pumpkin guts!
Lyssa watched for a little bit, but wanted in on the action when the boys started gutting the second pumpkin.
She decided "Slimmy...
yet...
Satisfying!"
Our finished products... The Tin Man, and a Starry Night.
(By the time we finished Lyssa was sound asleep in bed)
Alec was mesmerized by the firelight.

I don't blame him. Our pumpkins were pretty cool.
Then out to set them on the porch and check out the view from the street.
Alec thought it was spooooooky!
What a fun night.

I'm amazed how you can do fun family things and have the babies take part and be happy--and you & Nick are still sane! I wish we could video tape all these great experiences (yeah, I know they aren't always great) and let other parents watch so they can see how it's done. I had no clue!
