~This is Halloween! This is Halloween!~

"Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Boo!" Alec has been singing this Danny Elfman tune from The Nightmare Before Christmas all week. Honestly the promise of Halloween was what helped him get over the loss of Grandma and Grandpa's undivided attention last weekend. More on that another day...
The babies were geared up and ready to go Trick or Treating on Beggars Night!
Alec was once again Gus Gus the Mouse! (from Cinderella)
The costume still fit, and as far as he is concerned he's supposed to always be a mouse because he was last year. Next year I'm pretty sure he'll be picking out his own costume once he realizes that the mouse doesn't fit anymore...
Lyssa was Mortimer the Monkey. Appropriate, yes? She's still obsessed with all monkey's, but especially her Mortimer. In fact, I'm kind of surprised he's not in this photo the way she's been carrying him around lately.
Cousin Jakob was also the cutest little Monkey around!
This view cracks me up. This boy had serious trick or treating stamina. Despite the cold rainy wind he could have gone for hours.
Lyssa enjoyed the first five houses and then decided to head in doors with Jakob to devour their sweet treasures.
On actual Halloween we went to our wards Chili Cook Off and Truck or Treat. Never turning down an opportunity to dress up, I quickly put together this little number...
In about two minutes time I turned an ordinary Nick into The Chosen One, Harry Potter.
He looked even cooler with the cape, but I never got a picture.
Trunk or Treating turned out to be a profitably sweet event.
The kids were squealing with excitment as they dumped out all their candy.
This is way too much junk food for one little kid (or even a small family).
Can you believe this is only half of the loot?
Both the kids ate way too much junk this weekend. In consequence they also drank tons and tons of water to dilute all the salt and sugar, and went to bed happy but with tummy aches.
Here is Nick's interpretation of the older stressed, conficted Harry Potter. We sure do enjoy the book series. As seemed seasonally appropriate, we watched the first five Harry Potter movies over the last month.
Also in celebration of the season (and my love for almost all things musical) we went to Wicked earlier this month. I loved every minute of it and was so happy that I think I may have cried during the standing ovation. Yes, I'm a rather emotional person by nature. Nick knew how excited I had been about this show for months and decided that I must take home a momento to remember the occasion so he bought me this t-shirt. I love it! Thanks, babe!
We hope you had a wickedly awesome weekend! We sure did.
Happy Halloween!

Oh, what fun! I'm so glad you celebrate everything there is to celebrate, and I hope your kids will keep wanting to celebrate even when they are older. Nick makes an awesome Harry Potter, but I like the non-conflicted personality much better.

Love the costumes! Alec looks so different in his Gus Gus costume than he did last year. You're hair looks great BTW. So shiny!

I'm glad you liked Wicked. I cried in the end, too. It was THAT good! Let's talk about it sometime...

I'm SO glad you enjoyed WICKED. I knew you would. You knew you would. It is a perfect Chrissy show... Dancing through life, popular, and defying gravity... it's like your own life story!
