~Friends~

At the end of January the stars aligned, and some of our very best friends returned to Iowa. We were all a little devastated when they left last May. Though they are only staying in Iowa for a few short months we are making sure to take advantage of the time we do have them around. Oh, how we do love the Payne Family. Our kids match up really well and I think the world of their mother, so it all works out for us to spend lots of time together. We surely consider them part of our extend Iowa family.

These two boys, Isaac and Alec, are only three months apart. They hit it off right away, picking things up right where they left off. When they are together there is lots of racing, running, and car driving going on accompanied by vroooms and tire squeals.

These two little ladies hit things off as well! Elyssa has loved having a little girl friend again. She's spent so much time playing with boys all the time, but with Maddie around they can play Dora or "Mommy" and have a blast together! Lyssa Lou calls Maddie Moo her "besssst friend" and has a love for Maddie's always amazing hair. In fact, she begged me to learn how to braid her hair like Maddie's princess hair. I'll have to get a picture of it some time. It's taking some practice but I'm getting better!

Then to throw even more excitement into the mix Cordelia and Davis are only 5 months apart (just like Lyssa and Maddie). Oh how sweet Davis is with Cordy! He's always quick to crawl over to her and try to love on her, which sometimes means climbing on top of her in her carseat. They frequently take naps while we're playing because they're both on the two naps a day plan, hence no pictures. :-)

From lunches to playdates, to snack dinners and games in the yard, we have so much fun together and feel so lucky to have them here to play with us for the next few months. With three little kids so close together I recognize it's a rarity to find another family with kids so close in age.

We feel so blessed to call them friends.

Hooray to all of that! We need to live it up the next 2 months and then start planning trips to New England!

Are these Ruth Payne's great-grandchildren? What a wonderful set-up--at least for a few months!
