The BUMBO!

Around this time a year ago I decided to invest in a Bumbo seat. I think they're fabulous! They help babies learn to sit up and support themselves. In fact, my sister and I have often wondered if that is where Alec learned to have such perfect posture. Anyway, we started using it around this time last year with Alec and it was great! We used it all the time at restaurants, at dinner, everywhere until Alec's legs got to fat for it and we could barely get him in or out. Then I tucked it away in the guest room closet.
Well, last week I pulled it out to try it with Elyssa and as soon as Alec saw it he said "Bumbo!" like it was a great old friend! I laughed and put Lyssa in to see what she would do. At first she wasn't a big fan of it because it requires her to use her muscles and hold her head sturdy, but after a few minutes she didn't seem to mind it. However, as soon as I pulled her out Alec climbed right in! I went to stop him, thinking he was too big and would get stuck, but he was fine! His legs slip in and out easily now and he knows how to climb in and out on his own. It's "his chair"... at least when Elyssa isn't sitting in it. Almost every time he climbs in he says "bumbo, bumbo, bumbo" in this little sing song voice. I think it's great.
I couldn't help but look for a picture of Alec sitting in it last year to compare the two. What's funny is that these two pictures really were taken a year and a day apart! It's a great example of just how CLOSE TOGETHER my cute kids REALLY are.... sweet babies.
They are almost practically the same size here, though Alec actually was 2 lbs. heavier. Crazy!
