We were at the grocery store buying most of the food for the month. Though we know we are richly blessed, we still follow a pretty strict budget most of the time so every penny counts. The checker rang up my red bell peppers for three times and much as they were supposed to cost. When we tried to bring this to his attention he brushed it off and ignored us. My passive aggressive side thought nasty thoughts about
Wal-mart and their grouchy employees, and I resided myself to the fact that I was out of a few buck. We walked away with our cart full of food and Nick checked the receipt. Yep, we had been overcharged. He calmly walked back over to customer services, plead his case with the
bureaucracy, and got my money back.
Maybe this wouldn't be a big deal to you, but I HATE bureaucracy, and I HATE wasting money... Unfortunately I hate bureaucracy more than a hate wasting money so often the bureaucracy wins. What would I do without my Nick who deals with the bureaucracy for me, who calls Sprint when they over charge us on our phone bill, who calls Qwest when they tack on fees or services we don't have month after month, who fights with Enterprize after they overcharge us for our damaged rental car? What would I do without my bureaucracy fighter?
Yes, that is yet another reason why I love Nick.

Yay for Nick, boo for checker not listening to you in the first place! I hate confrontation, but since I've done the customer service stuff for so long, I usually know what to say to get what I need, so I am stuck as the fighter. Sigh.
Lovely wedding pics, too. I'm so wishing I was at a Villa with a memory foam king sized bed.
Hubby's are the best! Don't know and don't want to know what I would do without mine! Yeah Nick!!!
