Visiting Utah

So our story continues...

We flew back to Utah from Puerto Rico to find the world covered in snow. Though my mom stays up on the shoveling, it's amazing how much can come down over night. I was pleased to see that she was already training Alec to be a shoveling helper. She even had a shovel just his size, and they had taught him how to use it! (We may need to find one of these for our house!)Lyssa and I preferred to enjoy the beautifully frozen snow from the indoors....
Then Robert and my mom made a TRAIN out of kitchen chairs for the babies! Alec was so excited. He thought it was the coolest thing in the entire world, and it kept him entertained most of the afternoon.
Lyssa enjoyed the train, though she didn't want to be in a "sleeper car" so she took her roof off.
Alec, on the other hand, loved pretending to be asleep, and spent lots of time in his sleeper car.
Then we were off to visit Grandma Marion down the street! Nick was a trooper and shoveled the driveway and private drive up to our house. He came in very cold and said "That's longer than I remember it!" See, we moved into that house right after we were married and left when we moved to Iowa. My Grandma moved in so she could be close to my parents. It all worked out perfectly, and now every time I go visit my Grandma I get to feel all happy and nostalgic. (Oh! And this is a four generational photo with Grandma, my Mom, me, and Lyssa! How cool is that!)
After Grandma's house we were back over to The Parent's Place to hang out with Robert, Michael and Alan some more. Robert, in his preparations for boot camp, decided to do push-ups with Alec on his back...
Then Michael joined in, making it a sort of competition. I think my dad even did some, though I never got pictures.
Then it was hours upon hours of flying like Superman with Uncle Robbie. Robert seriously turned on the Superman movie theme song, put Alec in his old Superman cape (from when he was a little boy) and flew him around the house. Weeks later Alec is still asking to be flown around like Superman and will frequently sing "duh duh duuuuuuuuuuuh du! Duh Duh Duuuuuuuuuuh du!"

So yes, we were all spoiled to pieces. Lyssa was loved and held, Alec was flown, Nick and Chrissy were well fed and rested. Next stop Idaho!

That four generations of women picture is great. Lyssa will love it when she gets older. Good thinking. :-)

After Alec gained 2 pounds over Christmas, doing the Superman really makes you tired. I can empathize with Robert!
