~Visiting the Zoo~

A few days after I posted about feeling like I didn't have the energy to do much, we found ourselves laying around on a Saturday morning with no plans, no obligations, and a slightly blue Chrissy.  Nick would have nothing of us sitting around, so we loaded up the car and headed to the Zoo.  A fun, relaxed family outing was just the medicine we all needed.  Nick even brought along the camera and snapped a few photos for us!

Last year Alec would have nothing to do with this swaying bridge, but with his map in tow he confidently crossed to the other side.

Lyssa took some coaxing but eventually made it across as well.

Alec wasn't so sure how he felt about walking through an area where animals were freely roaming and hopping so he stayed close to me...

Lyssa pretending to be a Wallaby... but making sure none of them confused her for the real thing and got too close.

At this point Alec needed a bathroom break so Lyssa and Nick went to get settled in for a picnic lunch.

We roamed about for a while longer, and noticed that it must be springtime as most of the animals were mating, which brought on all sorts of questions.  Alec was especially perplexed by the lions.

Afterwards we headed over to the closest DQ for ice cream. Yum!
