~Swimming Lessons!!!~

For the last two weeks of June my little munchkins went straight from pajamas into their swimming suits without a bit of fuss.  Normally they complain about getting dressed, but when you know you're going to the pool to learn how to swim like a big kid how can you complain?!  They were so excited!
On the first day Elyssa pitched a royal fit when I handed her to a stranger in the water.  I was sent to the car to wait out her lesson and could hear her screaming across the street three doors down for almost the entire half hour.  When I returned her teacher asked "Is she you're strong willed child?"  I had to laugh.  Lyssa's fear had nothing to do with the water, just the stranger.  Once she got to know Mickey she was fine.  In fact, by the end of the two weeks she had stopped listening to Mickey all together and was acting like a crazy person in the water.  Mickey told me "You sure have you're hands full with that cute little one."
Mickey, I can't agree more.
This was Alec's second year doing swim lessons at Mindy Aronow's pool, so he was quite comfortable from the very beginning.  He listened to his teacher, worked hard, and learned a lot!  He swam half way across the pool to his teacher (using the breast-stroke) all by himself.  He started to work on other strokes too, and could float on his back all by his lonesome.  I was so proud of my big kid.
I have to admit it's exhausting to get three kids sunscreened, ready for the pool, and on time only to be there for 30 minutes and turn around and undo the entire process, but it's so worth it.  I love seeing them having fun, learning new things, and swimming with confidence.

I know what you mean about the loading, sun screen slathering, and unloading. We did swim lessons this year for both N&I. It was my job to prevent Spencer from jumping in after his siblings, I wish Isaac was as brave as Lyssa. NOT SO MUCH. But he started getting the hang of it and next year will do even better (or atleast that's what I tell myself). Thanks for your nice FB message about sick Natali. All those prayers must of worked cause we got discharged Saturday afternoon and we are doing so great. We actullay get to leave the house tomorrow!!! YEAH! (sorry for the novel) Miss you!

Sunscreen is one of those annoying things sun worshipers must deal with. I love watching your kids swim:-)
