~Alec's Creation~

Many weeks ago in mid-June Alec spent a great deal of time and effort on this creation.  He calls it "Captain Hook!"
If you look close you can see the hook, his sword and scabbar, his hair, his hat, his little daggar around his ankle... I think it's actually pretty cool how detailed he got with it all.  (I took a video on my cell phone of him explaining it all to me, but for some reason I can't get the sound to work when I upload it.  Too bad because it adds so much to the project.)  I am very impressed.  Way to go, Alec!

I love this beautiful, artistic outpouring of a creation. I love the texture, the color, the varied dimensionality, the implied lines, the attention to detail!!! I really wish I could watch the video of him explaining his "Captain Hook." Very, very awesome Alec! This is the kind of art that would have made Picasso cry...(seriously). Since I am a self-important artist who also studied art history and am married to an artist, I'd like to think I know a thing or two about artistic greatness...basically the fact that I am impressed should count for something extra cool. Go ahead and tell Alec that his second cousin, or first cousin once removed, or just call me "artist Sara" or "auntie Sara" (like they do in Hawaii) to make things simpler--oh but Alec is a thinker, so calling me "auntie Sara" might perplex the artist...better just explain how you and I are related then from what I can gather, he will never forget it...anyway, tell him that I am impressed and might commission some work if I ever have the money to do so...xo!

Wow, Alec! I didn't know you were a sculptor. This is way amazing! And if Sara is that impressed, you should feel duly admired!
