~Let's Get This Party Started!~

The weekend before Christmas Erin and Ryan arrived via Maggie the Mini Cooper.  The kids had been watching at the window, waiting for what felt like forever to them.  When they pulling into the driveway the kids were ecstatic!  They ran outside barefoot to smother them with hugs and kisses and lots and lots of talking.  From that point on they were hooked, especially once Ryan shared his I-phone and the wonders of Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds. :-)
Monday I had to have a chipped front tooth repaired (stupid candy canes) and then we were off to Sams Club to stock up on food.  Then my dear cousin, Caitlin, arrived via plane!  Sadly I didn't get any photos from that day, but believe me when I tell you that my kids fell in love with her too, especially Cordy.  All little kids love Caitlin.  She is super fun and super cool like that.
Wednesday Grandma Shannon, Grandpa Steve, Alan, Robert, and Liz arrived!  We all ran outside in barefeet to give hugs and kisses as they pulled up onto the driveway.  There was much excitement, tears, hugs, laughter, yawning, and stretching.
Lyssa got ahold of Grandma Shannon and didn't want to let go for a long time.  She had missed her beloved Grandma. They Lyssa remembered how very excited she was that Liz was here too!  She adores Liz, Robert's fiancee.
Cordy took her time to warm up to even more new people and faces that all felt the need to touch her and hold her and invade her personal space.  It wasn't before too long though that she realized how fun it was to have so many people around and as long as she couldn't see Nick she would let most people hold and play with her.
Before we knew my parents were coming in on Wednesday I had asked Erin, Ryan, and Caitlin to watch the kids for us so I could take Nick on a surprise overnight date.  I already had the hotel booked so I talked to my mom and apologized for bailing the same night they arrived.  They were completely understanding (especially since they came a day early) and helped my sister with the kids.  Nick was so surprised when he found out what I planned.  We had a great time together, just the two of us, without any worries that our kids would be well cared for in our absence.
What a perfect way to get our holiday started!

There are few things more cool than pulling up to a house with two jumping, ecstatic children watching you through the window.

Since Chrissy & I were talking on the phone, I heard them when you pulled up, Erin. It was cool even over the phone!
