~Treasure Island~

This boy's love for everything pirate only continues to increase with time.  

If he isn't playing with little pirates he is drawing them, watching them in movies, or dressing up like one... or reading about them.  We have a few super fun picture books about pirates, but he has been particularly interested in the story of Treasure Island.  Grandpa Steve, in all his amazingness, ordered The Great Illustrated Classics edition of the book for us and recorded himself reading the entire book in a matter of days.  Alec was so excited!   For a while I would even find him snuggled up, pouring over the pages even without the recording.

It makes me so happy when I see my kids excited about books and using their imaginations.  When Alec was teeny tiny I remember dreaming of finding Alec as a big kid completely enthralled in a book.  I'm so glad those dreams have come true. Sometimes I can hardly believe he has gotten so big.  Where did the time go?  He is growing up so fast these days.
