~Snow Day Sledding!~

We got hit by a blizzard the last two days of school before Christmas.  The kids were thrilled to have snow days, and Nick was thrilled to have the days off from work.  We were not, however, thrilled to have our power knocked out for 20 hours.  We kept plenty warm shoveling our driveway and many others on our street, but found our house dropping degrees throughout the day.  Luckily some close by friends invited us over for dinner.  Afterwards we headed back home, bundled up in our beds, and were happy to wake up to all the lights and beeps of electronics coming back on in the middle of the night.  The next day the roads were still pretty bad so we had another snow day with movies, popcorn, hot chocolate and sledding!  Nick took the big kids to a nearby park for a couple hours while Cordy slept.  They all had a blast.
The view from the bottom of the hill.
Happy sledding kids.
Happy boy, having a blast.
One silly little lady.
There was actually a bump built by some older kids that would send your sled flying through the air.  The kids loved it!  A few days later we were sure to take Cordy too.  She was a sledding MACHINE!  FEARLESS I tell you.   She just kept going and going and going, dragging the sled up all by herself and then going down all by herself, often flipping around going backwards most of the way, smiling all the way.  It was amazing to watch.  I look forward to next year when I get to join in the fun a little more, but it sure was fun to watch the kids enjoy themselves. :-)

Cordy is so funny. If there's a next time, try to get a video. :-) I'm glad your power came back on. I know nobody likes radiator heat besides me, but it doesn't go off when the power lines are broken.
