Every year I try to get pictures of our family in front of the tree on the Sunday before Christmas. We always wear our Christmas dresses/clothes, and it's always one of my favorite Sundays of the year, reminding us what the Christmas season is really about. This year was another wonderful year, full of lessons, talks and music that touched my heart. I couldn't help but want to take a few pictures to remind me of the day.
I would love to say that we took a few pictures and the kids cooperated, but lets be honest... they all are starting to act a little awkward around the camera. When it came to a family shot, this literally was the very best one of the lot. Good thing we don't take ourselves too seriously.
The girls in their coordinating Christmas outfits, care of the Target clearance rack last year. :-) They love pretending to be "twins".
Nick and I tried to get a shot of the two of us and this was just about as good as it gets. Nick looks young and fabulous as always, while I just keep gaining pregnancy weight in the face (and everywhere else) , but hey at least we are happy right?
This silly picture of my three littles makes me so happy. They remind me of how very much I have to be thankful for this Christmas season and always. I love being their mother. I am so grateful for the opportunity and trust Heavenly Father has given Nick and I to care for and love their beautiful spirits.

These are so much fun! Miss you!
They are cute. You are too. I feel you on the face weight. We just took Valentine's pictures in our living room, and I am amazed at how puffy I'm looking these days. This too shall pass, right?
Your family is beyond adorable.
I think traditions are important (even and perhaps especially when they are not perfect--that is how memories are made and preserved, right?). I think it admirable that you keep to yours so well. The photos you take in front of the tree will be meaningful to you and your children in the future, though I am sure (from personal experience) that you question this several times in the moment. The photos of you and Nick also document an important time in your life. Though I would not say you look "pregnant" in your face or whatever, I understand the sentiment all too well (and I am not going to tell you what to think about your face or physique--I'd just encourage something cheesy like honoring your emotions--whatever they are). I cannot tell you how many photos I have had to force myself NOT to delete over the course of the past 34 weeks. Soon--very soon--you will no longer be pregnant, and you will be happy that you documented this time of your life (even if it was not a time when you felt you looked your best). It will make you grateful for the non-pregnant times (because as miraculous as it is to get to have a little one growing inside you, it is much better--for everyone when baby is out).
Oh, the "Aaron" who just commented,is actually his wife, your cousin, Sara Jean. I don't want you to think some creepy Aaron fellow (which my husband is not) is following and commenting on your family blog. Sorry about that.:)
