We didn't really celebrate Valetines Day much this year, but thinking back we never really have to be honest. The year Nick and I were dating we were down in California at Disneyland with my brothers and didn't even realize it was Valentines Day. Our first year married we had plans with friends but they cancelled on us at the last minute, and I was so tired from school and work that I went home and went to bed at 6:30. Alan did send up homemade valentine bookmarks that year (which Nick still uses). Last year Alec was only a few weeks old on Valentines Day and we were still adjusting to the new lifestyle of having a baby. I don't remember us doing anything special at all that day, though I think my mom may have sent us a package of candy. This year I did think of dressing Alec in red, and Elyssa wore a cute heart outfit we recieved from a friend. We ordered pizza so I wouldn't have to worry about dinner and went to the mall to get Nick's contacts perscription.
When it comes down to it Valentines Day is mostly a Hallmark greeting card holiday. (Nick made me a cute homemade card this year. Good guy, eh?) Next year I might get Alec and Elyssa to make heart shaped cookies with me. Maybe someday Nick and I will celebrate v-day, but for now we'll just stick to dressing up the kids in cute clothes. :-)
