While I was gone...

Nick was painting!
Every time I go on vacation with the babies I leave Nick with a project... more specifically a painting project.  It's so much easier to do without the babies around, and it keeps Nick busy so he doesn't get too lonely.  I know lots of people that think it's amazing that he's willing to paint for me, but honestly if he didn't want to do it he wouldn't.  He is his own free agent, able to choose for himself.  Anyway, last summer it was the kitchen walls and cupboard.  That was a pretty big and intense painting job, but this time was no easy run either.  He moved all the furniture and wall hangings out of the main living areas and hallways of the house, taped off all the windows, doors, and ceiling.  Then he completely primed the walls and painted them... twice.  Thank goodness we bought him a paint gun to help the process along and save him from bending over every two minutes. So without further au-due, here are the before and after shots Nick took with the old camera that I didn't take on vacation with me.  :-)

Living Room Before (with some primer)
Living Room covered with white primer...
Living Room After!
(in a much lighter brown.  YEA! It still matches the furniture and decor, but is much brighter on those gloomy/rainy days and early nights...)
Front Entryway Before...
Front Entryway After!
When I got home everything was back hanging on the walls, put in it's place, without a trace of paint stuff in sight.  Nick also did a nice job painting Alec's room a peaceful light blue.  Alec was thrilled with the new color on his walls, the new red curtains, and vehicle themed lamp and quilt.  What a lucky little boy.  And what  lucky lady am I to have such a sweet husband, willing to help me do whatever it takes to make our little Iowa house feel like our special little home.
