Backyard Play

70 to 80 degree weather is wonderful.  Alec loves to tell me "Mom, I'm in the 80s!"  (I have to admit when he's wearing long baggy t-shirts with no pants and his hair sticking up every which way I can't help but chuckle.)  When warm weather means playing outside from the moment you get dressed to the twilight of the evening everyone around here seems to be a happier.  I love it.
A few weeks ago after our Friday ritual of pizza and a movie, I went to work away my evening at The Gap and Nick and the kids headed out to the backyard to play.  Nick snapped these pictures.  He doesn't use the camera very often, but still got some nice shots.  I thought I would share.  :-)
Still throwing leaves scatters around from last Fall.
Alec has got pretty good at "Superman Swinging" in the backyard.  He runs up and jumps on the swing, flying as high as he can go.
Lyssa is still working on gaining height on the "superman swing".
Crazy kiddos.
Slowing down, getting tired, starring off into the distance.
Gotta love that end of the day hair.
Who knows where that second blue hair bow ended up. :-)
Nick and I were just talking about how good our kids have it.  A built in best friend for a sibling.  Two parents that love them, and love each other.  Parents that provide everything they could ever need, and almost anything they have ever really wanted (we know this will change as they get older and start wanting big things $$$).  Good friends, loving family, and all the strawberries they could ever want to eat (at least for the last week).  A dad who genuinely enjoys spending time with them.  A mom to hang with every day, teaching them new things and giving them a variety of experiences.  In all honesty I know I'm no peach to live with and be around every waking hour of the day, but over all I would say these babies sure do live a charmed life.

I couldn't stop laughing about the 16 lbs of strawberries you bought after you left last night! Thanks for sharing! And thanks for the visit--I needed it :)

They DO live a charmed life. And maybe you'll be able to influence which expensive things they want so they're the ones you want, too. Good luck!
