~The Toy Fairy~

In our castle we play host to many magical creatures.  Some may visit your house as well, such as Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny.  But do you have Shoe Elves that steal and hide your shoes?  Or Book Fairies that take books to the book hospital to be repaired?  Or a Toy Fairy?  In theory, the Toy Fairy comes every month to month and a half and takes away toys and brings back old toys.  This way only half of our toys are ever out to be scattered about the house. Everything gets examined, thrown out or repaired, and reorganized on a regular basis.  This also gives new life to old toys for the kiddos.

Well, the past few months our Toy Fairy has been extremely neglectful.  In fact she (Alec has informed me the Toy Fairy is definitely a she) hadn't made an appearance since Christmas Eve.  With toys only being thrown around, dumped out and not really being played with, I decided it was high time the Toy Fairy paid us a visit.  While organizing toys, our Toy Fairy discovered that Alec had not one, not two but FOUR Lightening McQueen cars!  How many McQueen's does one little boy need?
She also discovered that Alec has an almost complete set of the main Cars characters, which everyone in our family can name.  We've all seen Cars that many times.  Shutter.
Based on the care given to these (and all other match box cars) over the last few months, she made an executive decision to remove all cars from the premises.  We had serious doubts that this would be received well, but you know what?  The boy hasn't said a word.  With so many other "new" toys he hasn't even noticed there is not a car to be found in the house.

Good call, Toy Fairy!  I was tired of stepping on those darn things.

I love this idea! I learned about this at BYU and have always planned on implementing it in my home. Toys can build up so fast and they can make such a mess. I have grand ideas already about how I will use the toy fairy! Thanks for the great name!
P.S. You think 4 McQueens are a lot, but my sister's kids have I'm guessing 7 to 10 EACH!!! They own pretty much EVERY car made for the movie Cars. It's insanity!
