healthy baby girl!
After spending hours debating (and mostly laughing) about how we can't come up with a decent boys name, we're really excited to be naming a girl this time around. We're happy that everything was in it's place, four chambers in the heart, two halves to the brain, 2 hands, 2 feet, 10 fingers and toes, etc. The doctors are a little concerned about how I am carrying this little lady so they'll be monitoring me a little closer with ultrasounds every visit, but they seem very positive and hopeful that everything will be fine. Worst case scenario I'll end up having a c-section, but we have lots of time for things to correct themselves and that is what we're all hoping andy praying for. In the mean time we're just happy this baby girl looks healthy!Lyssa is thrilled to have a baby sister, just as she predicted last night at bedtime. "It's a girl, mom, just like me!" In fact today she decided to just start calling the baby in my stomach "baby sister". She cracks me up with her questions. The other night she asked if I would spit the baby out after it grows big in my tummy. I couldn't help but smile at her inquiry. It's so fun to see the wheels in her little head turn.
Alec has been set that it's a baby brother for quite some time. When I told him today that it was a baby girl he said "No, mommy. It's a baby boy." I told him the doctor checked and she said it was definitely a girl and he didn't argue or seem too bugged. In fact, by the time we climbed in the car to leave his friend's house he asked "So mom, what are we going to call the baby girl in your tummy?" Already accepting and moving on. My sister, Erin, said it's probably because he already has a little sister and he knows she's not so bad. I would believe that. :-)
So yes, Nick and I are happy, the kiddos seem to be happy, and the baby is healthy. Life is good.

I'm so excited for you and you little family. Thanks for chating with me yesterday! I really enjoyed it.
Wonderful news! How exciting - I'm most excited for Lyssa to have a sister... I love sisters!!
Sweet! That's just like what happened to us...couldn't come up with a boy name, but totally had our girl name all ready to go. You guys come up with great names!
My mom promised me that my brother Josh was a baby girl (we did not have cool gender ultrasounds to help us plan ahead back then). When she called me from the hospital to ask me if she could name my baby brother Joshua Ray. I told her that I hated her and that she was a liar and I started to cry. I remember being really upset about being lied to by my mother of all people! I am glad that neither of your children have reacted this way. I am also excited for you. Baby girls are such fun! I love oth of mine ever so much. And, if you do have to go the c-section birthing route and you want some hints on how to heal faster, I have them. Besides with non-emergency sections these days they only have to make a small incision...and even with the huge hip bone to hip bone scars like the one I have, you could still wear a bikini if ever you wanted and none would be the wiser...oh wait, I am talking to the wrong Starks sister:) he, he.
When do we get to see a cute belly picture? Just curious...
I'm so excited for you, Chrissy!
