~Cordelia at 11 Months~

Eleven Months. Three hundred and thirty-four days. Has it really been that long?
For the last year I've been telling everyone that I have a little baby, but now you're not so little. In fact, I've used having a little baby at home as an excuse for many things over this last year and realize that my excuses aren't going to hold water much longer.
You're not a big baby by any means, especially since you started crawling, climbing, and cruising around. At 11 months you weighed in at an even 18 lbs, half a pound up from the previous month (which the doctors said wasn't enough weight gain, but I'm not worried). You're growing and learning and smiling just fine.
Still a little sparse on top hair for almost being a year old, but still cute as can be with bright eyes that light up any room. We think you're just as cute as can be, but we're not the only ones. Everywhere we go people want to talk to you. You've just got an irresistible smiley personality.

Dearest Cordelia,

This month was full of lots of new exciting changes for you! We were gone most of the last month visiting family. You not only were a super trooper in the car, never crying despite the loooong ride out to Utah and Idaho, but you were a super sleeper in strange places far away from the comforts of your crib. It's amazing how well you adapted to all the changes, new faces, new places. You're poor tummy had some trouble adapting to store-bought baby food while we were gone, but once you were back on the homemade stuff your tummy went right back to normal.

This last month was the end of our nursing time. After I got mastitis eight times I decided I was willing to pay for formula for a few months. For the most part you took to it just as well as you ate with me, and are still willing to cuddle for bottles every once and a while. We always enjoy our cuddle times together.

This month you learned how to really truly crawl! You're all over the place. You stand up on furniture, cruise around the house, and attempt to climb everything. You definitely keep us on our toes as we try to keep you safe. Sometimes I think you're crazy!

While we were on vacation you learned how to scream at the top of your lungs and throw tempter tantrums when you get really frustrated and exhausted. It seems that with more knowledge of whats out there you get more exasperated at not being able to get to it. The few times you've out right thrown a fit I must admit that I kind of laughed. It's amazing to see you lay down on the floor and kick your legs and arms. Luckily it really doesn't happen very often.

You may have learned how to throw a royal fit, but you're still one of the most easy going, happy babies I know. You've learned to blow kisses and it melts my heart. You laugh at me any time I pretend sneeze. You smile at pretty much everyone and in return the world stops, stares, and smiles right back at you (even the Japanese tourists in Yellowstone).

I know I've said this many times before, Cordelia, but we sure do love you to pieces. Your siblings love you. You're parents love you. We are so glad you came to our family, and I am soooo very grateful that I get to be you're mommy. I'll love you forever, my sweet Cordy baby.

Love always,
You're Mommy

She's so darn cute. I love that she's so adaptable and happy. Those are very useful traits to have in life, especially when you travel and come into contact with all sorts of people. And I agree with Cordy; store bought baby food is vile. Keep eating real food, Cordelia!

Mastitis 8 times?!! Holy cow you are a trooper. I wouldn't have persevered like that at all.
