Nick's Birthday Day!

Still catching up... Even though we had a birthday party for Nick on the Friday before, we still wanted to make his birthday day special too. We had strawberry and whipped creme crepes for breakfast (yummy with cheese too) and they were delicious! It was at that point that Nick got to open all the birthday cards from family and friends. Then I let him start on his birthday presents from the kids and me.
Birthday Scavenger Hunt and Breakfast
We have a tradition of doing fun and creative things with presents every year... usually involving some sort of scavenger hunt for presents and clues that lasts throughout the day. Well, even though I wasn't able to hide things around the neighborhood (or the house for that matter) we still had a scavenger hunt! In order to get his presents and find the clues, Nick had to read Dr. Seuss books to the kids! I had little sticky notes hidden in the books on the pages where he could find a clue to different presents. It was really fun for Alec to have Daddy read him stories at the table and I even stumped Nick on a few of his little presents. :-)

After church Nick, the luck guy, got to grill steaks and sweet potatoes and green beans. It was totally a Nick meal... not really my thing, but it was yummy!

It was a great day and we were all happy to spend the day together as a family and celebrate the great blessing that Nick is to all of us! We love you Daddy!
