So far behind...

So I sat down and realized that I haven't updated the blog in almost a month... crazy... It's time for a serious update! Unfortunately I'm so far behind that the task seems rather daunting. When I last left you it was March... and now it is almost May. So we'll see how much I can remember...

We had a wonderfully successful Game Night at our house! Of course I forgot to pull out the camera and take ANY pictures (in the words of Homer Simpson "DOH!") but it was a great time. We had TONS of goodies and played lots of games and my house was full of happy noises... happy children, laughing parents, all the things that I like! I wore Elyssa in the Baby Bjorn practically the entire time and it worked great!

I could do an entire post just on how great the Baby Bjorn is but I'll spare you... lets just say that if the Baby Bjorn got in a fight with the Evenflo Snugli the Snugli would be trampled! Thank you Hilery for showing me the light and teaching me that not all front packs are equal! And thank you E-Bay for helping me buy one for a fraction of the cost that I would have paid at the store! I never thought I would feel so passionately about any particular brand of baby carrier, let alone any baby carrier at all, but I HEART Baby Bjorn!

Oh! And I also love baby swings! Spring is about 2 weeks behind this year everywhere I go, but we've been bundling up and going outside anyway since March. I go for walks... almost every day and Alec loves that we finally pulled that baby swing out again and put it up in the backyard. In the words of Alec, "Swing! Swing! Oouside! Oouside! Swing! Swing!" He LOVES it and we love that he loves it.

Elyssa and Alec continue to grow and learn and love each other. Elyssa still isn't sleeping through the night, but she's only waking up once which is a great relief to her parents. :-) Alec continues to cut more teeth. We all try to smile and be happy, but recognize that some days we all wake up on the wrong side of the bed and just have to cry together.
We love all our play dates with friends and going to play group and discovering new parks. We are continuing to try and make Iowa our home, but we know it takes time to build up what we had after 5 years in Utah. Thank goodness Spring is finally here!
