August 9, 2010 (Pre-Baby Cordelia)
In the last weeks of pregnancy I realized that I was being a pretty lame mom. I couldn't run and jump and climb the way I usually do and I didn't have the energy to trek the kids around town. So for the first time in my kids lives I pulled out the finger paints. (I know most of my kids friends have been finger painting for ages, and I've had it sitting in my cupboard since last Fall. I just forgot about it!) My kids had so much fun, and really they weren't all that messy!
So fun, and such easy at home entertainment!
I have the feeling we will be doing a lot of this kind of stuff over the next few months. Any other fun easy at home entertainment ideas for me? What do you like to do with your kids when you can't leave the house much?

My favorite home entertainment is letting kids play with water or beans. I give them each a 9 x 13 with a few measuring cups, spoons and medicine droppers or basters and let them go crazy. There's always some water to clean up or beans on the floor, but really not too bad. Another favorite is making patterns with foods like choco chips, mini marshmallows, peanuts, etc. We make patterns then get to eat them up!
But just enjoy that new baby!
