Before Alec came into the world I had a hard time referring Nick and I as a “FAMILY”. Yes, we were technically a family, but I always thought of us in terms of a “couple” or “newlyweds”. Then when Alec came into the picture we became a “little family” and with Elyssa’s arrival a short 12 months later the title stayed the same in my mind. One boy, one girl, two parents… a perfect little family.
A few days ago I was talking to a friend on the phone (just getting around to returning calls and e-mails) and caught myself referring to our family as a “little family” when I realized her family was the same size as mine… and 3 kids does not a little family make! Later that evening I asked Alec what he thought, and he too agreed that when there are three kids you are a little family no longer. Yet we're not necessarily a BIG family either. (I mean, come on! There are people out there is 19 kids and counting!) So what are we? Well, we’re constantly working to be a HAPPY Family, a LOVING Family, and a CHRIST-LIKE Family…
And lets be honest, sometimes we’re a SILLY Family….
But I’ve decided we are officially A YOUNG FAMILY thanks to the arrival of sweet little Cordy.
And even if I've got pre-mature grey hair, an extra 20-30 lbs (still putting off weighing myself post-delivery), crazy hormones, a messy house and bags under my eyes (that make me look about 5-7 years older than I really am), I wouldn't have it
ANY OTHER WAY.
Life is a little crazy right now, but don't worry.
Life is still Good.

I agree, it's weird when I think about Ryan and me as a family. We are still a couple, I think. Hopefully someday in the not too distant future we will be a little family too. :-) I can't wait to hear more about your adventures.
I love your young family.
And PLEASE include me in your updates - I love hearing what you guys are up to!!
A wonderful family, to be sure!
