After I got back from the temple on the morning of October 15th, we headed over to the zoo for a fun filled day, hitting up lots of the outdoor animals and exhibits before seeing an IMAX about people saving orphaned elephants and monkeys. The older kids loved the movie. Cordy, exhausted, screamed in the hall with Nick the entire time. Poor guy.
We were all starving so we made our way over to Old Chicago pizza for a yummy deep dish.
Like the girls face wounds? Cordy took a nose dive off the hotel bed right onto the carpet and Lyssa tripped on a toy in the basement the day before.
She then proclaimed "Someone made a huge mess down here and I got hurt!"
Yes, Elyssa. Someone did. Someone who's name starts with an E.
Then back over to the river walk to play on some of the crazy artsy benches before heading over to...
the super duper slides!
Some people use wax paper to make themselves go faster. Even with Elyssa on my lap we flew down the slides at crazy speeds and almost flew of the end. I guess my jeans are really slick! The kids had a great time and I was really proud of Alec for being willing to go down those steep slides alone. We said goodbye to the slides and headed back to the car, changed into pajamas, set up the DVD players before heading off into the sunset for home.
What a perfect little weekend getaway.

Great photos for a great weekend. Lyssa.... That's too funny. Not the getting hurt part, but the reaction. Classic.
Those wonderful slides again:-) I'm so glad Cordy loves them.
