~Summer Vacation 2010: Playmates~

Early on during our vacation Alec started asking me if I remembered his friends back home.
"Mom do you remember my friend, Harrison?  I miss my friend Harrison." 
"Mom do you remember my friend, Chase?  I haven't played with Chase in sooo long."  

My two kids are pretty lucky to be so close in age with a built in playmate for a sibling and get along nicely much of the time, but even they prefer to mix things every once and a while and are already learning the value of friends.  As fun as my siblings may be, Alec and Lyssa are quite aware that most of them qualify as adults, and sometimes you just want to be around kids!  That's were Josie and Spencer came into the picture.  Ryan's sister, Michelle, happens to have two very cute kids who were willing to come play with us for the evening.

Josie is only 2 months older than Lyssa, and boy oh boy was Lyssa excited to have another GIRL around who also happened to be TWO YEARS OLD. ("Just like me, Mommy!")  Lyssa was waaaay in love with Josie's fabulous hair.  I can't say I blame her.

Spencer is a few years Alec's senior, but was very patient with my little man.  Alec sure didn't mind the age difference. Alec was just happy to have other kids around.

Lots of time was spent playing in Grandma's backyard, eating pizza, and playing on the swing set.

My kids had so much fun.
