~Cordelia at 6 Months~

March 1st marked the day that Cordelia officially turned 6 months old. That's half a year! Has half a year really gone by that fast? It feels like Cordelia is still too little to be 6 months, yet the calendar tells me otherwise.

This little lady spent most of the last month sick. In fact she got super sick a couple times. She's had a double ear infection for the last two weeks and spent over half the month with some sort of cold so she hasn't been eating incredibly well. Three weeks prior she weighed 15.1 lbs and a week later (when she went in sick) she weighed 14.10 lbs. I weighed her again March 1st and she was just over 15 lbs. (and about 25 inches) again so she is gaining back some weight. I'm sure the doctors will have a great time harassing me at her next appointment, but if you look at these pictures you don't see a sickly looking baby. She looks healthy and happy, and that's what matters. I'll be sure to include her stats from her appointment at 8 months. We are about a month off with immunizations because of our vacation and then our car accident that we had on the way to the 4 month check up.

Now that Cordy is feeling better she's back to her old happy content self. She loves her brother and sister, and can't get enough of them! They make her laugh every day, playing with her, bringing her toys, and helping her roll over.

Speaking of rolling over, this little lady still hasn't rolled from her back to her stomach though she's made some strong attempts at times. I'm trying to make sure she gets lot of free time on the floor, but it's such a balancing act wanting to keep her safe but give her the space to learn to move around and roll. She loves her exersaucer and Bumbo seat where she can sit up and play and watch everything. She's finally starting to get sick of her bouncy seat, and I frequently see her trying to do situps when we lay her in it. I have the feeling she'll be sitting up and rolling onto her tummy before we know it.

When all is said and done, we can't get enough of this girl!

It's hard to believe you're already 6 months old. Happy half birthday, sweet baby! It's been a wonderful half a year getting to know your sweet personality and see you grow and change from a tiny newborn to an infant to a rolly polly baby. You are soooo loved by so many, and when you flash your beautiful smiles at us or snuggle up on our necks and shoulders or plaster one of your sloppy kisses on our cheeks we feel so loved by you. Thanks for coming to our family. We love everything about you, and love that we get to spend the rest of forever with you! Thanks for being my sweet baby. I sure love being your Mother.

P.S. Erin, I think Elyssa's eyes started going all crazy Genetic Warfareish before 6 months. Just for kicks I went back and looked at this post of Elyssa at 6 months and they already look like they are changing a bit. Look at the mohawk hair on Elyssa! I remember thinking she didn't have any hair. I stand corrected.
