~Steps Toward Self Sufficiency~

This morning I asked Alec to go get his shoes so I could help him put them on.  He was taking a while so I went looking for the little guy and found him doing this!Yes, my sweet little man figured out how to put his shoes on his feet all by his lonesome.  Just one more step towards self sufficiency!  He was so proud of himself.  I was proud of him too.
Saturday Nick and Lyssa went to Idaho for a four day trip to see family, leaving sweet little Alec and I behind.  Though Alec misses Daddy and his best friend/little sister, Lyssa, we have had a wonderful time.  Saturday we went to the zoo and out for ice cream.  Sunday we visited a friend and her new baby, and explored Raccoon River Park.  Today we went swimming at the Y, and tomorrow we plan on visiting the Science Center.  In between it all we've had walks, bike rides, stories, tickle wars, cuddles, treats, and lots of fun.

I've decided that it is much easier to take care of one child in comparison to two.  It's so much easier to keep him happy and deal with his fits, especially those that happen in public.  But I still think it's safe to say we're both excited for Lyssa and Nick to come home tomorrow.

I think it's so fun you got some alone time with Alec. You are SUCH a great mommy.
Hope Nick and Lyssa had a fun trip!! I bet she'll be so happy to see you.

Good job on the sandals. Did he manage to get them on the right feet? That is tough.

I think that first time it was pure luck that he got the right feet. We've had some troubles with that lately... but we're working on it!
