Happy Easter!

I've felt a little lame this year about my lack of holiday celebration. I get my kids dressed up for a picture, but we haven't really done much of anything since Christmas. I guess my excuse is that I have a newborn baby, but still sometimes I think if I was a cooler mom I would be giving Alec more fun experiences and starting more family traditions. I know my kids are really young so a lot of things wouldn't matter to them, but I still think I'm going to start trying to do more. I'm already thinking up all the things I want to do next year. In fact, I would love any fun family tradition ideas you have! :-)

Easter was about the same as all the other holidays for us... I dressed up the kids, but I didn't even do Easter baskets. I guess we didn't really need the extra junk food around the house, but I've always done fun things for Nick so I feel a little lame. I did spend the week before Easter showing Alec pictures of Jesus and trying to get him to say his name. Mostly he just points to the sheep in Jesus' arms and says "Baaah". Maybe I'm not totally lame. Anyway, thankfully some of our friends invited us over for Easter Dinner or we would have probably eaten quesadillas . :-) They're little boy LOVES babies and keeps asking his mom whenit's going to be their turn to have a baby girl. I think he's adorable (pictured above holding a crying Elyssa. What a patient boy!)

Alec looked adorable in his Easter suit and I was really glad it fit him! I bought it a year ago from Baby Gap for $10 and just hoped that he wouldn't grow out of it before he got around to Easter time this year. He got lots of compliments wearing it to church. In fact, the missionaries came up and said they wish they could wear a suit as cool as his. :-) Elyssa wore her bunny hat and bunny sleeper compliments of Aunt Tarla and Grandma Lael! (Shown in the above photo) What cute kids I have. (wink wink)
