Well, we didn't get the plasma TV. Instead we took the extra $1000 off our van. Mini-van shopping is not exactly what I would call fun. Nick is a salesperson's dream, while I am usually the hard nose... though the salespeople always initially think that Nick's the one they need to sell... funny. Anyway, after lots of Internet research and some test driving, we now own a brand spanking new 2007 Kia Sedona.
I was NOT happy about buying a mini-van, but I knew it would come eventually. I just thought it would be a few years. The manager came out to congratulate us on our buy and was surprised that I wasn't more excited since the van is "obviously for you!" I told Nick a couple months ago "I'm not driving a mini-van until I'm at least 25" but I didn't even make it to 24.
Well, it's a nice mini-van and it's fully loaded (except for the super sound system and DVD player that I opted out of) and it's very comfortable to drive. With stow and go seating, power doors, sun roof, adjustable peddles, memory seating, seat warmers, etc. etc. it's a very nice van. (Dad, it even came with 17inch wheels and Michelin tires) We also have a 10 year power train warranty and a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. I think we got a good deal.
Hey, I said I wasn't going to have 2 kids until I was at least 25 and look where that got me? I'm sure it will grow on me in time.
