So as I sit here trying to think of what else happened two weeks ago my mind goes blank for the most part. Feel free to read this if you want, but honestly it's more for me as an overview for the family journal than a blog post.
We had a nice play date with Tiffany and Jakob one day. We really like them and are glad we made friends with their family and that they only moved out of the ward boundaries and not out of the state. :-)
We also had a visit to Hilery and Nora, which is always fun! They let us come over so Alec could get a change of scenery, and I got to have some fun adult conversation which is always needed and much appreciated. We're really glad that they're planning on sticking around for a while. In fact, they're having a boy soon who will be in Elyssa's grade in school! How fun that they'll get to grow up together!
Alec got to go to his first birthday party! His friend Issac turned one and they had cake and party hats. Fun fun! Fun for mom and dad too because we got to use a gift card from our relator and go out on a date to Granite City Resturant. Okay food, but the chocolate cake was to die for!
We also had Brenda and Bob Bahr over for Sunday dinner! We love love love the Bahr's and are sad they moved out of our ward, but happy that they still want to be our friends. Nick works with Bob and they've been surogate grandparents to Alec since we moved into the area. In fact, they took care of Alec when we went to the hospital to have Elyssa. I love them, probably most of all because they love my kids. Bob gave Alec a plastic braclet and Alec kept pointing to it and saying "pretty!" He wanted to wear it constantly for the next three days.
Alec shows me the bracelet and says "Bob!"
"Yes, Alec. Bob did give you that bracelet."
Alec with a big happy grin, "Pretty!"
"Yes Alec. It is a very nice bracelet. Bob was very nice to give it to you."
Alec gets excited, "Bob!"
We probably had that same conversation 5 times a day. Alec really does like Bob! Here's a picture of him with my babies.
