~Grandma and Grandpa time~

After we got back from our visit to Grammie we were lucky to have an extra day and a half with Grandma Shannon and Grandpa Steve before they flew back to Utah.  I don't remember all the specifics, but I do know that we had a great time.  The kids were on Cloud Nine with all the extra love and attention.  On their last day we had a picnic lunch with Nick at one of our favorite parks up by his work. Finally I remembered to take some pictures!

That evening Nick took Grandma and Grandpa to the airport and then brought Alec straight over to a birthday party so Alec got to tag along on the ride to the airport and Elyssa did not.  It was ultimate devastation!  She tried to run after them down the driveway, and sobbed in my arms for a good 10 minutes.  

"I want my Grandma!  I want my Grandpa!"  

I must admit, I felt her sadness as well and join in with some tears of my own as I said

 "Aren't we sooo lucky to have family that we love and miss sooo much?" 

We really are pretty lucky.
